O’s Notes: This is a fine collection of smooth jazz tunes written by trumpeter Dennis Angel. The program contains instrumental contemporary jazz and four vocals featuring Rebecca Angel or Deforest Raphael. There are also a couple of freshly arranged covers. “Rio On My Mind” gives us a taste of Brazil including guitarist Romero Lubambo. The musicians are all first rate including Jason Miles (keyboards, b) and Gottfried Stoger (sax). Timeless Grooves lives up to its billing!
