O’s Notes: Whenever trombonist Wayne Wallace takes the stage there is sure to be some head bobbing going on! This is no exception as he assembles a quintet with Murray Low (p), David Belove (b), Paul van Wageningen (d) and Michael Spiro (perc). “Serafina Del Caribe” is a trombone super fest as Wayne invites Jeff Crossman, Natalie Creasman and Dave Martel (all on tb) to echo his melody and solos. Kenny Washington sings “Perdido” and Bobi Céspedes delivers a heartfelt rendition of “The Peanut Vendor”. They play some cha-cha, bolero, and mambo with an intensity that makes you want to be there.
