O’s Notes: Todos Os Tempos means All Times and All Eras. It is the debut solo recording by Roberto Montero. While guitar is his primary instrument, he also sings, plays bass, percussion and cavaco. He was born in Brazil but has spent most of his life in the US. All ten selections were composed and produced by Montero. He plays a variety of styles, but it is all peaceful and fresh. There are many featured artists including vocalist Catina De Luna and pianist Otmaro Ruiz on “Bom Balaio”; Munyungo Jackson (udu, perc), Philip Bynoe (b) and Osmar Shulze Peninha (d); and a team of vocalists on “De Duas, Uma”. We also enjoyed the freshness “Vou Mas Fico” with Oscar Schulze “Peninha” (d) and Rique Pantoja (p).
