O’s Notes: Sonar is drummer Manuel Pasquinelli, bassist Christian Kutner, and guitarists Stephan Thelan & Bernhard Wagner who anchor the rhythms giving guitarist David Torn full artistic freedom to layer melodies. The result is top-notch club music. We enjoyed the pulsating beats of “Labyrinth” as it evolves over 14+ minutes along with “Tunnel Drive”. Tranceportation (Volume 1) is ~39 minutes with four impactful songs and another solid statement from Sonar, one of our favorites in this space.
