O’s Notes: Italian trumpeter, composer Marco Vezzoso leads a band that started as a duo with composer, pianist Alessandro Collina, then added world class drummer Trilok Gurtu and bassist Dominique Di Piazza. The resulting recording is a reflection of their global performances. Marco’s sweet trumpet notes and Gurtu’s percussion are pervasive throughout Travel, highlighted on “Breathing Istanbul”, ”Oslo No Light” and “A Tuk-Tuk for Phenom Pehn”. It’s a fresh relaxing session that begs repeated listening.
