O’s Notes: Bassist Will Lyle leads a trio with pianist Bijan Taghavi and drummer Komi Shepsu. Lyle jumps right into it with a powerful solo on the opener “Esau” establishing a swinging groove for TrioGram. There is a good variety here with three originals by Lyle, two from Taghavi, and 4 fresh arrangements of other tunes notably “How Deep is the Ocean”. We also enjoyed the soothing “Ezra”, and “Lalyc’s Groove” in a fine sophomore effort from Lyle.
