O’s Notes: It’s hard to believe that the Yellowjackets have been around for 25 years! I guess I am getting old 🙁 This live CD and DVD combination captures music from 1981 to now and it’s hot! The DVD was recorded in Italy and the CD in France both during October 2005. Russell Ferrante (keyboards) and Jimmy Haslip (b) are the two original members with Bob Mintzer (sax) since 1990 and Marcus Baylor (d) since 2000. Their brand of jazz-fusion has evolved over time and has remained fresh as they continue recreating their groove. This is an excellent snapshot (with a very good concert DVD) of a band that promises to continue bringing us more.
