O’s Notes: Jamie is a young contemporary jazz singer and pianist. His raspy vocals give character to his signature, gently stated lyrics over cooler music. Check out “It’s About Time”. He uses natural instrumentation that is recorded live. This provides a welcomed rich sound. Cullum sings a collection of popular originals as well as some covers of jazz classics like “I Get a Kick Out Of You” and “But For Now”. We like his new arrangements including his work on piano but our favorite is “Frontin'”. It is upbeat, energetic and engaging.
