O’s Notes: Trombonist, composer and vocalist Miró Henry Sobrer conceived this album in memory of his father. Two of Swords is a combination of poetic spoken word, scatting, singing and warm instrumentation. Both the words and music are profound. Miró shines on “Tonight Only One Word” and “I Had a Vision of You Being Like the Sea” that also includes a fine percussion solo by Cole Stover. Ellie Pruneau tickles the ivory on “Deep Waters”. We also enjoyed the Caribbean vibe of Trinity Dance, Part III”.
