O’s Notes: Pianist/composer Patrick Bradley collaborates with legendary contemporary jazz keyboardist/producer Jeff Lorber for Under The Sun. They open with the funky beats of “Straight Path” and we immediately hear the influence of Lorber. This is a good thing. Alex Al (b), Dwight Sills (g) and Tony Moore are polished musicians that make the beats flow. Guest artists Dave Koz (sax) and IreneB (vocals) appear on “Just Let Go”, a peaceful airy smooth groove. Rick Braun (t) surfaces for “Slipstream”, a mid tempo track adding further variety to the set. We prefer the funky fusion tunes like “Rush Street”.
