O’s Notes: Norwegian bassist, composer and producer Jo Berger Myhre presents Unheimlich Manouevre, his first effort as a leader. There is generous use of electronics on top of a laid back, sometimes eerie, sometimes mysterious, and at times a peaceful theme. Vivian Wang adds spoken word on ”Smallest Things, Part 2”. Other highlights are “Aviary” and “Cynosure”, “Gate Opens” and “Perils”. We enjoyed Myhre’s work on the entire set.
