O’s Notes: Guitarist, composer/lyricist Freddie Bryant chronicles the famous Manhattan neighborhood where his lived for 54 years, though 2019. He employs his trio plus six excellent guest musicians for this fine 2-disc session. Great music and great lyrics from Freddie and Carla Cook make this set pop! Regina Carter is cutting it up on violin. We enjoyed “A Walk In The Hood” (Parts 1&2), “Remember That”, and “Love Can’t Live On Nostalgia” with a fine guitar solo by Bryant. The music and lyrics paint quite a vivid picture on Upper West Side Love Story.
