O’s Notes: This is their sixth album and while there has been some transition of the players, the spirit of the music remains the same: cool jazz and or jazz-fusion integrated with the current urban rhythms. They open this set with a new arrangement of “School Days” followed by the soothing groove of “Close Your Eyes and Remember” with flute leads from Nick Bisesi. Then it’s the funky R&B of “My Boo” featuring Bisesi on sax. This pattern continues including songs with broad appeal like “Come Back Jack” and “My Love Is True”. We think this is their best release yet!
