O’s Notes: Saxophonist, composer and producer Kenny Shankar serves up another set with his quintet including Daisuke Abe (g), Mike Eckroth (p), Yoshi Waki (b) and Brian Fishler (d). They also bring guest trumpeter Bill Mobley back for three selections notably “Ramble” and the title track. Most of the tunes are upbeat, originals by Shanker except a few covers. Our favorites are “Hunter” and “Midnight Snack”. It’s a good session.
