O’s Notes: Alto saxophonist Mike DiRibbo’s Way Out Northwest was recorded with a Vancouver-based band including Tilden Webb (p), Jodi Proznick (b), and Jesse Cahill (d). The music is mostly DiRubbo originals that illustrate the strong connection between the musicians. Each of them shines across the eight compositions. This album supports a continued pool of evidence that left coast jazz is centered in the northwest, specifically Vancouver Canada.
