O’s Notes: Cuban pianist and composer Miguel De Armas leads the charge with an abundance of cool, syncopated riffs throughout“What’s To Come. Guitarist Elmer Ferrel shines on “A Song for my Little Son”. We also loved “His Bass And Him” with standout performances by Marc Decho (b) and Galen Weston (g). The percussion is vibrant courtesy of Michael Medrano (d, perc), Armen Villegas (congas) and Carlitos Medrano (congas, perc). Guest Jane Bunnett plays soprano sax on the title track rounding out a super Latin-fusion set.
