O’s Notes: When Flooded is a collection of nine warm, original compositions. They range from the calm before the storm, the rage of the rising tides and then the peaceful aftermath. Holman plays trumpet and leads Diversion, a quintet with Mike McGinnis (cl), Christopher Hoffman (cello), Nate Radley (g) and Ziv Ravitz (d, perc). Matt attempts to package a full orchestra experience with this chamber band. It is a good start on his debut.
