O’s Notes: Canadian pianist, composer, Amanda Tosoff just released Where The Joy Is, a pleasant album including vocals from Emilie-Claire Barlow. It is the third chapter of her Words Project, merging poetry, art-song and jazz. She is inspired by Barlow and her band, true friends, Allison Au (sax), Jon Maharaj (b), and Morgan Childs (d). We enjoyed “Little One”, “This Time The Dream’s On Me”, and “Where the Joy Is”. Thankfully Tosoff has reconnected with her love of music and life, and perhaps another chapter in the Words Project.
