O’s Notes: Joyce is soulful, relaxed and very entertaining. She sings twelve standards in front of the Michael Jefry Stevens Trio with Jonathan Wires (b) and Ronardo Ward (d). She sings the blues on “I Thought About You” and “Blue Skies/In Walked Bud”. “Moanin'”, “Jitterbug Waltz” and “My Heart Belongs to Daddy” are upbeat numbers with a strong dose of soul. In both cases Cobb makes these songs her own.
