O’s Notes: Hungarian vocalist Julia Karosi leads a band with guitarist Ben Monder, pianist Aron Tálas, bassist Adám Bögöthy and Bendegúz Varga on drums. She takes off in a boundaryless exchange that is Without Dimensions. The core (7 selections) of the program is an homage to Béla Bartók and it is true to traditional roots and somewhat exotic. Julia‘s vocalizations are glorious on “Insomnia” and the 3-Part “Words and Beyond”. She makes herself into a beautiful vocal instrument. The extensive liner notes include translations of the Hungarian lyrics on two songs.
