O’s Notes: Versatile British guitarist Chris Standring records an album of standards on Wonderful World. He marries his trios with a string orchestra to rejuvenate the classics. The trio rotates members including polished performers Peter Erskine (d), Chuck Berghofer (b), Harvey Mason (d) and Darek Oleszkiewicz (b). They open with the bossa nova beats of “How Insensative”, and shine on “Autumn In New York” and “Falling In Love With Love”.
