O’s Notes: This is a reflective holiday album led by Charles Xavier on vibraphone, keyboards and percussion. The ringing chimes are fitting for seasonal tunes, reminiscent of Christmas bells. The program includes most of the favorites and an original, “Christmas Day Is Almost Here” featuring Tina Marie Murray who also sings “Christmas Time Is Here”. Russell Golub is the principal accompaniment to Xavier. There is a sad twist to most of the music reflecting the loss of Charles Xavier Sr., the go-to guy for the family mid-2009. The mournful spirit is intentional as Charles seeks to sooth with this album.
