O’s Notes: So Many Roads is a reflective set about 36 minutes long that showcases bassist Anne Mette Iversen as a composer/soloist with her quintet accentuated by 4Corners, a four piece string ensemble. The groove is free spirited modern jazz with a chamber feel imparted by the strings. The story unfolds in four chapters with gentle passages on each end to set the stage. John Ellis (sax), Peter Dahlgren (tb), Otis Brown III (d) and Danny Grissett (p) do a fine job accompanying Anne as well as taking the spotlight from time to time. We liked the story and enjoyed the set.
