O’s Notes: Pianist Mike Longo, bassist Bob Crenshaw and Drummer Lewis Nash are all polished jazz musicians. Step On It is their third outing as a trio led by Longo. It is again a strong combination performing covers of popular tunes like “Impressions”, “Tico Tico” and “Cantaloupe Island”. The sole original is the title track, composed by Longo. It is a good set.
