O’s Notes: The Las Vegas Boneheads are a large ensemble centered around trombonists Nathan Tanouye, Nate Kimball, Andrew Boostrom, Hai Macaggi, Sonny Hernandez, Ralph Pressler, and leader Carl Miller. They play with a swinging style in front of a tight rhythm section including Steve Flora (b), Uli Geissendoerfer (p) and Larry Aberman (d). The harmonized bones make Sixty and Still Cookin’ a notable session. “Skylark”, “I Thought About You”, “Cherokee”, and “Giant Steps” are notable.
