O’s Notes: Conductor, producer, musical director and pianist Loren Schoenberg revisits a collection composed by Eddie Sauter. It was commissioned by xylophonist Red Norvo for his orchestra but never released until now! Vocalist Kate Kortum is the present day stand in for Mildred Bailey, and she sparkles on “Nice Work”, “September in the Rain”, and “you Go To My Head”. Warren Wolf steps in on xylophone and doesn’t miss a beat on tunes like “I Know That You Know”. So Many Memories gives us a fresh view of swing in the 1930s.
