O’s Notes: They’ve got the festive Caribbean groove sewn up on this one with a bundle of energy. Ochoa’s vocals resound with vibrato. He invites his dad, Luis Ochoa Sr. (vocals), Paquito D’Rivera (cl) who shines on “To Brenda With Love” and Guido Basso (t) to join the multitude of talented musicians on the set. There are dance tunes both slow and fast. Luis Jr. who shows us his guitar prowess of “Mestizos” composed half of the tunes. Cimarrón is a fun CD with no losers.
