O’s Notes: The band is Ken Morgan (bs, as, fl), Eric Thomas (p), Jeff Beavan (b), Mike Van Lente (d) and leader Tom Elferdink (ts, ss). They open swinging on “My Delight” before the rather melancholic trip on “Lullaby of Forrealville”. They play both bright and blue tones over ten tracks. Elferdink wrote all but three of the songs bringing an air of freshness to the session. We liked “Walk Back” and “Talk Back” best.
