O’s Notes: The title Our Community Will Not Be Erased suggests, provocative, perhaps militant statements. Instead, Pelt hits us with a calming sense of love and community, a LOVE record. He leads a quintet with Orrin Evans (p), Buster Williams (b), Lasse Carson (keyboards), and Lenny White (d). The mode is soothing modern jazz across nine original selections. It’s a wonderful and needed elixir for today’s madness, especially “Fathers and Daughters” , “Sandman”, and “Brothas On the Corner”.
