O’s Notes: Conga master, Larry Calland leads a quartet with Dr. Virginia Jefferson (p), Bill Moss (b) and Ivan Benson (congas). This live session was recorded in Indianapolis during February 2002. The music breathes with gentle beats that warm you up. The spirits are high on tunes like “Charlie Brown’s All-Stars” and relaxing on “Mistico”. “Almost There” and “Love Is You” have an upbeat fusion feel featuring guitarist Sandy Williams.
