O’s Notes: Pianist Adolfo teams up with Gabriel Vivas (b), Cariomagna Araya (d) and Claudio Spiewak (g) in a live setting to bring us a generous slice of Brazilian music. Carol enters the mix on “Fotografia” with warm vocals that are lively and passionate. Antonio has a number of reflective passages including his solo on “Carinho So” and the intro to “Insensatez”. Saboya returns singing and scatting on a new arrangement of Jobim’s classic “Wave”, one of the highlights. Each of the musicians makes a strong contribution leading to an enjoyable experience at the University of Miami.
