O’s Notes: Santi (b) and his band, a sextet, were influenced by their tour of Spain and Portugal. The musical landscape is broad with straight-ahead jazz colored with Latin influences. We particularly liked “Trance Dance” with is samba beat and the adventurous, syncopated “Harmonious”. Violinist? Miri Ben-Ari continues to make her presence known with a strong performance here.
