O’s Notes: Pianist John Sheridan played with the Jim Cullum Jazz Band in San Antonio for over ten years writing over 1000 arrangements. He left that band in 2003, when he branched out on his own. His trio with Dave Stone (b) and Tony DeNicola (d) is his current band. They perform a dozen swinging standards which all have an upbeat feeling highlighted by John’s piano style. He plays softly while adding punctuation in all of the right spots. The resulting session is easy to enjoy and provides an excellent backdrop for any occasion.
