O’s Notes: Drummer Phil Maturano mixes Latin and straight-ahead jazz grooves on At Home Everywhere. He uses three different trio configurations to get it done. Phil Palombi (b) and Matthew Fries (p) are the primary team for 6 of the 9 selections with Christian Torkewitz (p), Irio O’Farril (b) and Michael O’Brien (b) making guest appearances. Four of the selections are Maturano originals with lots of crisp accents that allow him to strut his stuff. Fries contributes the rousing “Two Left Feet”. Among the best of the rest are “Nero Girl”, “Fee Fi Fo Fum”, “Groovin’ High” and “Super Hero Walk” making this a winning session.
