O’s Notes: These guys are cooking! Aside from great work anchoring the beats from Pete on drums, there are some excellent solos from the band especially Joel Frahm (ts) and Mike Rodriguez (t). The rest of the band is not shabby with pianist Toru Dodo and bassist David Wong. Pete wrote four of the tunes with Toru and Joel each adding a composition. The music is new but the groove is straight ahead jazz and keeping with tradition true to the title.
