O’s Notes: Michael Blum plays guitar, sings and leads a quartet with bassist Jim Stinnett, pianist Brad Smith and drummer Don Moio. They celebrate the late Oscar Peterson with Blum leading the way. He sings on a laid back version of “East of The Sun”. It may seem strange for a guitarist to lead a tribute to a pianist but Blum was dedicated to perfecting Peterson’s solos and he gets the job done most notably on “Tristeza” and “Whispe” making Chasing Oscar a true realization.
