O’s Notes: This is a collection of standards and originals by Scott Reeves. While five of the nine tunes were released earlier, this set of songs fits well together and is still fresh. Scott plays trombone, flugelhorn and didgeridoo and has good company with Bill Mobley (t), Kenny Werner (p), James Williams (p), John Lockwood (b) and Bob Gullotti (d). Janet Reeves sings a nice arrangement of “Speak Low”, the sole vocal track. The mood is upbeat and bouncy for the CD, a job done well.
