O’s Notes: Opening with “Close Your Eyes” led by the muted cornet of Vaché with Bill Charlap tickling the ivories we quickly get a strong sense of swing that extends through the entire set. They also play ballads giving Warren a chance to showcase the warmer sounds of his horn. We liked “Too Late Now” and the bouncy tunes like “Blue Lou” and “I’m Shooting High”. Harry Allen adds complementary tenor sax on “Dream Dancing” and a few others.
