O’s Notes: The quartet is John Hart (g), Rick Petrone (b), Joe Corsello (d) and leader Ralph Lalama on sax. The program is nine covers of standards, including upbeat bop tunes like “Buzzy” featuring Hart’s fleeting guitar leads matched by Lalama. They do take it down a notch on “Nonchalant” and “Like Someone In Love”. Ralph does a fine job with these melodies again balanced by Hart. We also liked the blues groove of “Old Folks” and “Just In Time”. It is a very good set.
