O’s Notes: Vibraphonist Tarmu has traveled around the world as a musician and Exotic Tales is a reflection of his inspirations. The best news is that he doesn’t stray too far from a traditional jazz foundation. It also helps to have a strong supporting cast. Drummer Daniel Glass and Cengiz Yaltkaya (p) make notable contributions on “Moon Over the Bosphorus” while bassist Dustin Morgan maintains a solid register. There are 9 engaging tunes with varied tempos. We liked it a lot, especially the zing and pop of songs like “The Bedouin Hang”.
