O’s Notes: Bassist David Finck leads a swinging jazz quartet with Tom Ranier (p), Joe Locke (vibes) and Joe La Barbera (d). They play twelve songs, half covers with originals from each of the band members. The music is pleasant and inspirational. We were tapping our feet on “Nature Boy”, “Look At You” and “Four Flags” featuring Jeremy Pelt (t) and Bob Sheppard (sax). Finck does an excellent job on the arrangements and blending the left coast cool sound (La Barbera & Ranier) with New York swing. It’s comes off well.
