O’s Notes: Vocalist Maria Jameau has performed around the globe singing pop, jazz and World music formats. For Gema she focuses on Brazilian music and formed a vibrant band: Blue Brazil with Paulo Rodriguez (g), Nate Lopez (b), Jacob Harris (perc) and Bob Afifi (fl). The program includes many Latin favorites rearranged with happy tones. Jameau starts out strong singing the title track in Portuguese. She benefits from great work by Blue Brazil. We especially enjoyed “Triste” in this mellow session. Welcome to Brazil!
