O’s Notes: This German quintet has been around for ten years. They are Frank Roberscheuten (cl, sax), Dirk Van der Linden (p), Karel Algoed (b), singer Shaunette Hildabrand and young drummer Moritz Gastreich who joined the band last year. Their name is befitting of their style because their music really swings. Get Happy! is no exception with 17 newly arranged classics, both instrumental and vocals, including “Tea For Two”, “Harlem Nocturne”, a burning version of “Be Bop” featuring Roberscheuten and “Lullaby of the Leaves”. This is an enjoyable session.
