O’s Notes: Martin (p), Henning Gailing (b) and Hendrick Smock (d) come out smokin’ on Groove Machine” and follow in double time with “The Modal Thing”. They then simmer down on a more relaxed pace before the cool finale, “Mr. K”. Sasse and company have energy and feel that comes out in the music. The first two cuts are worth the price of the CD alone!
