O’s Notes: Ralph Pugliese (organ), John Licitra (g), and Silky Joe Kiernan (d) are joined by leader Chris Bauer on harmonica. It is different but decidedly cool. Chris learned from his dad, Bob, the late chord harmonica player. Bauer leans towards a mellow country sound vs. the more typical gutsy blues style. It works well when combined with the cool jazz from the organ trio. Eleven standards plus one original from Kiernan make up the swinging set.
