O’s Notes: Mike opens up cooking on his guitar on “I’ll Take Two”. We immediately characterize his style as being poised. The notes are well articulated and flow effortlessly to make seamless melodies. Kennedy plays in a quartet with Mike Frank (p), Paul Gehman (b) and Dan Monaghan (d). The music is fresh and all original. We liked the cool flow of the title track, “Territory” and “News To Me”. Kennedy wraps the set with “Days End” a warm solo guitar piece. Idle Afternoon is a very listenable recording.
