O’s Notes: Allen Eager was a jazz sax master during the 1940’s. He played regularly on the New York circuit. His sound and phrasing was a combination of Parker, Lester Young and Dexter Gordon melded into his own cool voice on tenor. The late forties found Eager at his peak. This collection spans 1947-1953, all previously unreleased live tracks.
