O’s Notes: Doug Richards is the director of The Great American Music Ensemble, a big band crafted in the spirit of classic jazz large band with fresh arrangements. Doug also invited a few guests that make special contributions. Rene Marie sings “Can’t Help Lovin’ That Man Of Mine” and five other songs. Jon Faddis (t) sparkles on “West End Blues” & “Stardust” and violinist Joe Kennedy, Jr. makes hay on “When It’s Sleepy Time Down South”. There is an abundance of talent outside of the special guests and the band is polished delivering a dynamic program that proves It’s All in the GAME.
