O’s Notes: Jíbaro Music is traditional Puerto Rican jazz. It contains elements of African, Spanish and Caribbean beats. Zenón’s interpretation is not only a reflection of his heritage but a fine work of art. Luis Perdomo (p), Hans Glawischnig (b) and Antonio Sanchez (d) join Miquel (sax) to perform ten original compositions. The music is a neobop with strong Latin rhythms. It is catchy.
