O’s Notes: This is swinging jazz with a hint of New Orleans Blues added for flavor. It comes through with the big warm sound from Benny’s alto sax. He has good company with Ben Webster (ts), Frank Rosolino (tb), André Previn (p), Barney Kessel (g), Leroy Vinnegar (b) and Shelly Manne (d). There are seven songs and all are good especially “Blues My Naughty Sweetie Gives To Me”, “Ain’t She Sweet” and “A Walkin’ Thing”. This is a classic recording!
